Meet The Team
At the heart of every great organization is a great team. This is no different at EEAD. Our team is composed of hard working, motivated individuals that are all dedicated to the cause. Take a moment and meet some of our key players below.
John Treadwell
Founder and Chairman
John Treadwell as a civil rights advocate has spent over forty years being at the forefront working with anti-discrimination organizations such as the NAACP and others of legal struggles to secure full civil rights for African-Americans and others. He has been involved in affirmative action programs, get out to vote campaigns, voter education, quality education for African-American Students and others, job opportunities, housing segregation, mediation and conciliation to resolve complaints, investigating employment complaints, and health care and community input, as well as labor and management relations. As a former EEOC Senior Investigator, he spent twenty years exposing unlawful discrimination in the workplace at the EEOC Phoenix District Office. He was the first African-American hired when the office was established in 1971. Mr. Treadwell is the founder of the Cholla Striders & Jesse Owens Memorial Track Clubs. He has been responsible for numerous athletes getting track and field scholarships. Mr. Treadwell has a Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Arts Degree. He is very dedicated to helping children to get off the streets and earn track and field scholarships. He is a proud father and grandfather. Mr. Treadwell knows that discrimination of any kind can be prevented if it is taken seriously by everyone. He truly believes in the statement “Injustice Anywhere Threatens Justice Everywhere” made by the late Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Mr. Treadwell has always said he will not leave fighting discrimination at the feet of his children and grandchildren. We need everybody in this battle.
Glenn S. Millsaps Jr.
President and Chief Executive Officer, Co-founder
Mr. Millsaps’ has an extensive background in civil rights advocacy. He has been a longtime supporter of the NAACP, since 1993 and has done volunteer work with the ACLU seeking to break down disenfranchisement for voter’s rights. He currently serves as an advisor to the Phoenix NAACP President. Millsaps has also appeared on radio programs discussing equal employment opportunity issues and has been a keynote speaker for several events. Glenn made his start in the work of equal employment opportunity and civic duty while he served in the United States Marine Corps. His career has been served at the local, state and federal levels. During this time Millsaps’ has learned the intricacies of employer driven discriminatory workplace practices. When he served in the Marine Corps he organized to seek improved working conditioning at several Marine Corps installations, which is where he found unequal treatment for women in the armed forces because of under representation and broken promises by recruiters. After leaving the armed forces and entering into the work force he saw corruption in the workplace and exposed it at the highest levels possible. Millsaps’ holds several advance degrees but takes more joy in the education he has received from his work in the community. Glenn has filed thousands of charges of employment discrimination claims on behalf of victims. This work has included helping disabled veterans and Title VII victims under the 1964 Civil Rights Act. He was inspired to help co-found the EEAD after being the victim of employment discrimination and “blacklisted” by a former employer. He finds it important to always mention, “It would have not been possible to survive the ordeal, if not for the sleepless nights I spent learning from mentors who have been long time civil rights advocates.” Millsaps has been on both sides of the fence and knows how to fight employment discrimination and win!
Millsaps’ goal in life is embodied in an old proverb: “While it is divine in a man to be blind in justice.”
